Bed Bounce

The rear end hops on washboard and expansion joints

An empty bed over a stiff rear leaf pack skips instead of absorbing. You feel it as a rapid vertical hop that doesn't settle, worst on rough pavement at speed and most noticeable when the truck is unloaded.

What's actually happening

The rear suspension isn't articulating through its intended range. Tired factory bushings let the pack bind, and a lift that changed shackle geometry makes it worse.

Where to start

Fresh polyurethane eyelet bushings and correct shackle length restore the geometry. A rear sway bar helps the roll that usually shows up alongside it.
