Loose or Wandering Steering
The truck hunts on the highway and feels vague off center
Go to 35" tires or larger and the factory steering components are carrying loads they were never specced for. What you feel as wander is deflection in the tie rod ends and distortion in the soft rubber rack bushings under cornering load.
Check this first
With the truck on the ground and the engine off, rock the steering wheel a few degrees each way. Play before the tires move is slop in the linkage, not alignment. An alignment shop will not fix it.
The fix
Replace the linkage with components built for the load. Poly rack bushings stop the housing from distorting. If you're running long-travel suspension, the steering kit has to match the travel.
